According to Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, the Serie A team have been spotted wearing panty shorts to practice.
It is a controversial move given the fact that in Italy there are no public toilets and they can be found at any football ground and many stadiums.
A few weeks ago, Italy were in trouble due to a massive virus outbreak and the players had to wear long underwear to prevent infections.
The players are not allowed to be seen wearing anything but the shorts.
This was the second time this season that the Italian football team has worn shorts and it was a decision made by the team’s sporting director, Marco Mazzolanti, who wanted to ensure that the players were well-prepared.
Italian football is not the only league where shorts are worn.
In France, for example, the French league club, Nice, is famous for their shorts.
The French Football Association also allows players to wear shorts to training but this is in a limited fashion.
According to the French Football Federation, only one player can wear shorts and the other players are instructed to wear their underwear.
The Italian team have also been seen wearing shorts on a number of occasions during the pre-season training.
